Permanent Makeup

Makeup has been used for decades to enhance the beauty of a face.

It is always improving and people have found a way to make it last longer.

Permanent makeup tattoo or cosmetic tattooing was developed to give people fuller brows, plumper lips, eyeliner that never smudges, or to cover up scars and imperfection.

Permanent makeup is similar to a tattoo, but the modern version uses much more sophisticated tools and machines as well as pigments. The results are semi-permanent, which means they last from 2 to 10 years, depending on the procedure.

The main purpose of permanent makeup is to beautify.

For instance, if you choose a permanent makeup tattoo for lips, you will have the perfect color on your lips 24/7 without worrying that it will wear off or smudge.

Permanent makeup eyeliner doesn’t come off after you wash your face. It is a tattoo, the pigment is inserted between the epidermis and the dermis layer of your skin.

Permanent Makeup FAQs

How is Permanent Makeup Done?2021-11-20T18:11:47+00:00

Permanent makeup artists use machines or manual tools specially designed for the treatment they practice.

For example, microblading is done with a manual blade that consists of tiny needles that deposit pigment under the skin.

Other treatments use pens or state-of-the-art machines for tattooing.

Is Permanent Makeup Painful?2021-11-20T18:12:26+00:00

Clients claim that getting a permanent makeup treatment is not painful, but can be a little bit uncomfortable, depending on the tattooed area.

PMU artists usually use numbing solutions to reduce the pain.

The client is informed of what steps to take to prepare for the treatment and given the post-care tips, which are very important in order for the tattoo to heal properly.

Who Should Avoid Permanent Makeup?2021-11-20T18:13:15+00:00

Permanent makeup is generally considered to be safe, but some people should avoid it, otherwise, it can lead to serious complications.

Permanent makeup treatments are not allowed for people younger than 18, pregnant or breast-feeding women, as well as those who have any of the conditions from the following list:

• People with any bleeding disorders
• People who take blood-thinning medications
• People with viral infections or diseases
• People who are going through chemotherapy
• People with diabetes
• People with serious diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, lupus, or other autoimmune disorders
• People with skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area
• People who have undergone an organ transplant
• People who’ve recently had Botox injections or fillers in the area (at least 2 weeks should pass before you get your brows microbladed)

Is Permanent Makeup Safe?2021-11-20T18:14:00+00:00

Since permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo, small incisions are made on the skin. Therefore, a new tattoo is an open wound and it is prone to infections if not treated properly.

In order to avoid complications, it is vital to follow aftercare tips, and some of the most important rules say that wearing makeup during the healing stage is absolutely forbidden.

When it comes to side effects of permanent makeup, allergic reactions are rare and can be easily avoided if you do a patch test prior to the treatment.

You are obliged to inform your permanent makeup artist about any skin conditions and health problems you have, in order to avoid complications during and after the treatment.

In order to lower and actually avoid any chances of getting an infection and other problems, it is important to find a reputable, experienced and above all, certified permanent makeup artist to provide the treatment.

Prepare for Your Permanent Makeup Session2021-11-20T22:49:40+00:00

PRE-PROCEDURE INFORMATION

All permanent cosmetic procedures are a multi-session process. You are required to come back for at least one touch-up visit before it can be determined that your work is complete. Touch-up visits are scheduled at 4-6 week intervals or longer.

Be prepared for the initial color intensity of your procedure to be significantly sharper, brighter, or darker than what is expected for the final outcome. It will take time for this transition based upon how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.

While these tattooed colors may initially simulate the exact color and tone desired, they will not always remain a perfect match. Tattooed colors are constant, while your own skin color will vary depending on exposure to cold, heat, sun, and circulatory changes. For example, if your skin tans and you had a scar camouflage, your surrounding skin will become darker in appearance than the treated area.

Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may swell slightly or redden, some clients feel it is best not to make any social plans for a day or two following any procedure. It is always best to avoid these procedures within months prior to important life events such as weddings. Procedures may take longer than expected to be complete under some circumstances.

Wear your normal make up or bring your brow pencils to your consult, but you do not have to for your procedure. Please do not wear mascara to an eyeliner procedure.

Any tweezing or waxing should be done at least 48 hours prior to the procedure; electrolysis no less than 5 days before. Do not resume ANY method of hair removal for at least two weeks.

Any eyelash or eyebrow tinting or eyelash curling should be done no sooner than 48 hours before, or two weeks after the procedure.

DO NOT wear contact lenses during or within 48 hours following the eyeliner procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-tattooed condition.

Following the eyeliner procedures, as a safety precaution, we recommend that you have someone available to accompany you or drive you home.

Refrain from the use of alcohol, aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications for seven days before and two days after any procedure.

Refrain from judgment-altering drugs for at least 24 hours prior to any procedure. No medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician.

A skin test is offered upon request.
